Classroom Procedures
I hope the following procedures
will help clarify my classroom policies and practices. I will be
adding to this information throughout the school
year.
Homework:
Homework is assigned Monday through
Thursday. The exact assignment will be listed in my homework
section. Daily lessons and class activities will be listed
too for your information. Later, I will be listing homework
assignments in the calendar section. I intend to
use homwork primarily as a method for review of basic
math concepts and operations. For this purpose I will be
using the Spectrum Math Series. All homework will be
explained in class.
Class
Preparation:
All my students are expected to come to class
with their math book, completed homework, sharpened pencils, and
lined paper to show their math work. Students are expected to
bring their materials with them. They are not allowed to go
to their lockers during class time to get the materials they will
need for the day's lesson.
Classwork:
This
year we will be using the Spectrum Math
Series for homework and the
Algebraic Thinking text for
classwork. Both of these text series will be supplimented
with other materials from time to time as the lesson
warrents. Algebraic Thinking
text books will not be sent home. However, pages from that
text may be brought home to finish an assignment started in
class.
Progress Reports:
It is my goal
to facilitate communication by sending home progress reports on a
regular basis. Beginning on October 16, I will be sending
them home each Friday.
