It was such a pleasure meeting so
many of you at conferences!
6th Grade : As 2nd quarter
begins, the 6th graders will be continuing with their
fractions. We will be using "fraction strips" to help
students to 'see' the math. This manipulative makes it easier
for students to grasp the concept of fractions and will be a great
discussion point for you to have with your student.If you have concerns, please email me at jhomfeldt@msn.com !! 7th Grade: We will begin working on functions. We will use the function machine to "visualize" inputs and outputs. We will then graph our functions and look for patterns.**All students received a math notebook to keep math notes in. We took the time to organize it and break it into specific sections. These should be kept in the student's binder and brought to class each day. This is an excellent way to keep up on what we are doing in class and how we are meeting the state expectations and standards.
