fables/legends/myths
• Spelling – Greek and Latin prefixes and roots with
themes
• Grammar – Caught Ya! Program for punctuation and
vocabulary building
• Writing – Step Up to Writing color coded essay writing
program
LA projects include: comic strips, choice
activities (ACTS), story boards, games, and project
posters

Elements of Literature curriculum and several novels included
• Spelling – weekly spelling with pretests on Monday and
tests on Friday
• Grammar – Daily Language Activities (DLA) for grammar,
usage, and mechanics
