Grade Camp
Chinook’s fifth graders will
be attending Camp Auburn this spring. It is an important
experience; one in which we would like all students to
participate.
If you are in need of
assistance to pay for your child’s camp, please make sure you
take advantage of the fundraisers
available. You
will receive fliers on other fundraisers that are
planned.

CONFERENCES
Fall conferences have been
scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, November 18, 19, and
20.
There will be no a.m. or p.m.
kindergarten classes or ECE classes during fall
conferences. Students in full-day kindergarten and grades
one through five will be dismissed at 12:40. Lunches will
be served before students are dismissed.
Conferences are scheduled every
twenty minutes. Conference letters will be sent out by
teachers on Monday, November 2, indicating a specific date and time
for your conference. Please fill out the lower portion of the
letter and return it with your child as soon as
possible.
No childcare will be provided
during conferences and children should not attend conferences
(unless other arrangements have been made with the
teacher).
We look
forward to seeing you at
conferences
HOW TO HAVE A
SUCCESSFUL PARENT
CONFERENCE
To get the most out of your
Parent/Teacher Conference in November, please come
prepared. The key to a successful conferencing session is
two-way communication. By exchanging information, you and your
child’s teacher can set the stage for a great school
year.
Coming prepared to the
conference means that you may have some questions to ask the
teacher, such as:
ØIs my child reading at the level you would expect
for this grade level?
ØIs my child able to do the math you would expect
at this age?
ØWhat are my child’s strengths and
weaknesses?
ØCan you show/give me examples of
these?
ØDoes my child get along well with
others?
ØWhat can I do at home to help my child be more
successful at school?
