I love the month of October! The leaves on the trees are so
beautiful as they are turning their Fall colors, and I am actually
enjoying the cooler weather! What is difficult however, is waking
up to the dark outside - I always have to double check my alarm
setting, hoping it is wrong!
We have finished the Scientific Method with a test. Students have
the opportunity to redo this if they wish at home for a better
grade. Seventh grade will be reviewing cells, then doing a project
with the information. Please look for information on this coming in
the next week or so. Sixth grade will be studying our Earth and
it's weather patterns, cycles, and how they are all involved with
the sun's solar energy.
If your child still has not brought in a Lab Folder, please do so.
We are beginning to fill these up already with labs and will
continue. They are $0.15 at Walmart and many colors to choose from.
Also, if your sixth grader has not turned in $1.00 for the Current
Science Magazine subscription we will be using in class, please
send that as well.
I am hoping to do my Pumpkin Lab again this year towards the end of
the month. I will be asking for students to bring in a small sized
pumpkin to be used with a partner. Watch for a parent letter to go
home towards the end of the month.
